Meet Stephen Wiltshire, an autistic man that has the unbelievable ability to draw whole city-scapes after only one cursory viewing. After nothing more than a single helicopter ride, Stephen can fill the better part of 5 1/2 yards of paper with a detailed recounting of what he saw. Above, Stephen takes on the Rome, Italy.
It is easy to pass Stephen’s skill off as another outrageous example of how autism can tap into different parts of someones mind. It is also important to note the artistic ability that is also represented in these vast city-scapes. Take a look at Stephen’s website and you will gain a greater appreciation for how his talent has blossomed since he was a young child.
Below, The Human Camera documents the city of Tokyo on 10 yards of paper.
