Publishing content for YoungArchitect is a labor of love and I really do it because I have a strong feeling that, in the end, we will be able to connect where we can engage our ideas on a large scale. But sometimes the task can get daunting and I question whether all of the work will bare fruit.
It is at these times that I seem to always come across something outside of the realm of the architecture world that grabs my attention. I call these Moments of Inspiration and they are examples of people exceeding normal conventions or showcasing abilities that are seemingly incomprehensible. They captivate me and I sometimes find myself going back over the material countless times. When I see these moments of inspiration, writing content for YoungArchitect doesn’t seem like to tall of a task.
Architects are not one-dimensional people and their interests don’t lie solely in architecture or design. Moments of Inspiration will be an on-going series of posts that I will share with you and they won’t be bound to the architecture industry. Hopefully, these posts will help us start to talk about everything that influences architects, irrespective of the subject matter.
This weeks Moment of Inspiration is Zoe Keating:
Zoe Keating is a Canadian born cellist. Using electronic sampling, she can single handily create complex compositions that can be both contemporary and haunting. She is formerly a member of a group called Rasputina that also incorporates the cello and other string instruments into contemporary music. If you like what you hear and want more, there are a few more videos of her on YouTube.
Enjoy.

The arts and artists can inspire across disciplines. I design buildings but find inspiration from quilting among many other crafts and arts.
You missed a “too” and “single-handedly”. Mechanics are important.
