Unusual Places and Spaces

In my search for interesting architectural content, I came across a few items that were of particular interest. The following four articles are all of inhabitable spaces in very weird places.

Click on the Pictures to bring up the original articles:

sea restaurant This was actually in last weeks Friday posting but it is a prime example of architecture in unorthodox conditions. Having been to aquariums with walkways similar, I can understand how dizzying these spaces can be. I couldn’t imagine what the experience of eating there would be like.

foldable restaurant In this example, I cannot figure out how they got all the accessories (lights, silverware, machinery, etc…) to stay in place while the cargo box is closed up. Click the link to see more images.

garbage truckinside of garbage truck These two images are in fact the same thing. Someone took your typical RV to the next level and converted a garbage truck into a fully functioning living space.

chinese couple Now this is just a little insane if you ask me. In China, they don’t have “eminent domain” and therefor, developers must buy out all of the tenants in order to secure every parcel of land. This couple is holding out for better or for worse. The only question is, how do you live there? How do you get even the most basic things like food? Are their any water or power lines hooked up?
